The Home experience of the World Surf League Android app is a curated feed of editorial content, events and more. We started working on this app when the initial Google Material Design specifications came out so we decided to apply that visual language as we'd be launching around the same time as Android Lollipop.
Cards were chosen to represent each of the different chunks of information that fans can interact with. This also gave us the flexibility to prioritize multiple actions within each of the cards.
